As avid campers and adventurers we have always been out and about; exploring Kenya by road. However in our years of camping we came to realise that shelter (apart from your tents) is essential. Having tried out the entire range of shelter options available; from standalone gazebo’s to branded 4×4 awnings. We concluded that none of the products really solved the problem well.
In 2015, we set out to create the best vehicle awning on the market. We decided that our core focus would be ease of use and time to set-up and pack away.

GENERAL
What is the weight of the awning? 27kg
What is frame made from? It is made from a combination of steel and aluminium (and fully powder coated).
Is the awning fabric water proof? YES
What do I do in High Wind? We provide guy ropes and pegs in the awning (it should be pegged down in high wind). You can leave the vehicle windows open on both sides to allow the wind to pass through
Why are there no Poles? The awning hinge system is very strong and can easily support the weight of the awning even in heavy wind. However the guy ropes are required to stop upward movement of the awning (when the wind catches under the awning).
FITTING
Do I need a roof rack to fit the awning? YES, you need a 1.8m long (or longer) roof rack.
My roof rack is only till my sunroof is that ok? NO that won’t work for the awning (unless your roof rack is still 2m long).
Is the awning permanently installed? NO, it is bolted to your vehicle and can be removed with a spanner.
